Double lung transplant 13
On February 22nd and 23rd I received a double lung transplant. After 50+ years of fighting lung problems, I now breathe freely and find myself with a new life. I owe it all to an outstanding transplant team, a progressive pulmonologist, and support from so many places. Most of all though, I owe my new life to the individual who made a decision to become an organ donator.

Steve,
David forwarded your blog and it was great to see you looking so good. It has also been great to know that our friends and classmates are lending their support. I have my donor card and share your story knowing it must be an inspiration for others to do the same. So glad you started the blog and will look forward to the updates on your progress. Give Nancy our best.

I just finished reading your blog. Thanks for sharing your story. A story of inspiration, courage, and commitment. The humble gratitude and appreciation you've shown to everyone for what you have been given, speaks to the love in your heart and the kindness of your soul. While all things happen for a reason, with reasons often unknown, that is not the case here. I'm sure the reason you have been given this gift, this new "Breath of Life", was so that you can continue your inspirational ways, always encouraging others to become the best they can be.. and now how to become the healthiest they can be. You have always inspired me. Thanks.
